Abstract

Terrorism - Criminological aspects Abstract In the first part of the thesis, the author compares various definitions of terrorism to identify common elements in an attempt to formulate a definition that is as general and unifying as possible. He then explores potential analogies between terrorism and war, based on the assumption that the similarity is not merely definitional but also functional, in terms of objectives and the mechanisms by which both phenomena are defined. The author hypothesizes that the dynamics of terrorism can be studied through the lens of war theory, viewing this as a key approach to recognizing future terrorist threats. He also presents a classification of terrorism based on ideological criteria and on the historical development of terrorist movements. At the end of the first part, the author critically examines the way the term "terrorism" is perceived by society and outlines the resulting problems in the search for an objective and neutral definition. The second part introduces terrorist offences and the legal definition of terrorism under the Czech Criminal Code. The third part forms the core of the thesis, focusing on selected criminological aspects. Terorismus - Kriminologické aspekty Abstrakt V první části práce autor porovnává různé definice terorismu, aby v nich našel shodné znaky v pokusu z nich vytvořit definici co nejvíce obecnou a sjednocující. Následně se věnuje prozkoumáním možných analogií terorismu s válkou, protože předpokládá, že podobnost není jenom definiční, ale i funkční, ve smyslu cílů a mechanismů, kterými jsou oba jevy definovány. Autor stanovuje hypotézu, že optikou dynamiky války lze studovat dynamiku terorismu, což vidí jako klíčové v rozeznávání budoucích teroristických hrozeb. Dále představuje dělení terorismu podle kritéria ideologického a dělení podle kritéria historického vývoje. V závěru první části autor podrobuje kritice způsob, jakým je terorismus jako termín vnímán společností a představuje z toho vyplývající problémy při hledání objektivní a neutrální definice. V části druhé autor představuje teroristické trestné činy a způsob, jakým je terorismus definován legálně v českém trestním zákoníku. Část třetí tvoří jádro práce, autor v ní analyzuje vybranou výseč kriminologických aspektů. V první kapitole analyzuje osobu teroristy, kdy u různých vzorků teroristů hledá společné socioekonomické znaky, aby lépe pochopil možné teroristické motivace.
