This thesis focuses on the organization and coordination of informal volunteer' activities in the context of the crisis caused by the war in Ukraine. The aim was to understand how informal volunteers organize their work, what guides their decision-making, what role institutions and nonprofit organisations play in their self-organization, and how their engagement evolves over time. The research is based on a qualitative analysis of eight in-depth semi-structured interviews. The findings reveal a wide range of self-organization forms, from individual aid efforts to collective coordinated activities. Although these activities were not carried out under the auspices of any formal organization, many initiatives corresponded to the concept of structured self-organization. The thesis concludes by emphasizing the importance of informal volunteers as part of civil society.
