Překážky a příležitosti ovlivňující zastoupení žen v technických pozicích v odvětví živé hudební produkce v České republice

Abstract

This thesis analyzes the barriers and opportunities influencing the representation of women in technical professions within the live music industry sector in the Czech Republic focusing specifically on their involvement in occupations such as sound engineers, lighting technicians, video technicians, riggers, and stage technicians. Through a case study of selected company, a major provider of technical services for events in both the Czech and international markets and semi-structured interviews with technicians and company management, the thesis identifies structural, institutional, and cultural factors that shape this traditionally masculine environment and contribute to the low participation of women in technical roles. The aim of the research is to use qualitative analysis to uncover mechanisms of gender inequality that are not always visible or consciously acknowledged, thereby contributing to a deeper understanding of gender dynamics within the technical segment of cultural professions. Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou překážek a příležitostí ovlivňujících zastoupení žen v technických profesích v odvětví živé hudební produkce v České republice, a to konkrétně na pozicích zvukařek, osvětlovaček, video techniček, riggerek a pódiových techniček. Prostřednictvím případové studie vybrané společnosti, významného dodavatele technického zajištění akcí na českém i zahraničním trhu, a polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s techniky*čkami a vedením společnosti práce identifikuje strukturální, institucionální a kulturální faktory, které formují toto tradičně maskulinní prostředí a přispívají k nízkému zapojení žen do technických profesí. Cílem práce je prostřednictvím kvalitativní analýzy pojmenovat mechanismy genderových nerovností, které nejsou vždy viditelné či vědomě reflektované, a přispět tak k hlubšímu porozumění genderové dynamice v technickém segmentu kulturních profesí.
