estrogenic compounds, endocrine disruptors, drinking water, advanced oxidation processes, adsorption, membrane technologies, hybrid processes, bisphenol A, EE2, 17β-estradiolTato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na výskyt přírodních (estron - E1, 17β-estradiol - E2, estriol - E3) i syntetických estrogenů (17α-ethinylestradiol - EE2) a vybraných xenoestrogenních látek v pitné vodě, zejména bisfenolu A (BPA), atrazinu, nonylfenolu (NP) a diethylftalátu (DEP). Práce analyzuje jejich zdravotní a environmentální rizika, zdroje kontaminace a dostupné metody jejich odstranění. Tyto látky se do vodních zdrojů dostávají především z odpadních a průmyslových vod, zemědělské činnosti a nevhodné likvidace plastů a léčiv.
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the occurrence of natural (estrone - E1, 17β-estradiol - E2, estriol - E3) and synthetic estrogens (17α-ethinylestradiol - EE2), as well as selected xenoestrogenic compounds in drinking water, with an emphasis on bisphenol A (BPA), atrazine, nonylphenol (NP), and diethyl phthalate (DEP). The thesis examines their environmental and health risks, sources of contamination, and available removal methods. These substances enter water sources mainly through wastewater, industrial discharges, agricultural activities, and improper disposal of plastics and pharmaceuticals. Even at very low concentrations (in the nanogram-per-liter range), they exhibit significant endocrine-disrupting effects, causing hormonal disorders in aquatic organisms and health issues in humans. The thesis provides an overview of modern removal technologies, including advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), adsorption on activated carbon, biochar, and metal-organic frameworks (MOF), as well as membrane technologies. Limitations of current methods and the need for cost-effective and eco-friendly solutions are also discussed.
