Srovnávací analýza diverzifikační dynamiky arabských šupinatých plazů

Abstract

Squamate reptiles are one of the most diverse group of vertebrates inhabiting arid regions of the world. In desert areas we meet a large number of species, that are perfectly adapted to the harsh conditions of this habitat. An interesting region in terms of the diversity of squamate reptiles is the Arabian Peninsula, which is a characterized by heterogeneous environment, and thus a wide range of suitable habitats for different reptile species. This area is also characterized by a dynamic geological past, when tectonic movements caused the connection or, on the contrary, the isolation of this area from its surroundings, and it can therefore be assumed that they significantly shaped the local biota, which is unique in many aspects. How these processes, but also many others, shaped the herpetofauna of Arabia in the past is a question that has been rather marginally studied so far. In this work, data used for phylogenetic assesments in previously published papers were analyzed. An important fact is, that in this work the data were also analyzed for non-Arabian representatives of squamate reptiles, mainly for mutual comparison of diversification dynamics, as it was assumed that they should differ between the Arabian and non-Arabian representatives. Šupinatí plazi jsou jednou z nejrozmanitějších skupin obratlovců obývající aridní oblasti. V pouštních oblastech se setkáváme s velkým počtem druhů, které jsou drsným podmínkám tohoto biotopu skvěle přizpůsobené. Zajímavou oblastí z hlediska diverzity šupinatých plazů je Arabský poloostrov, který je typický heterogenním prostředím, a tedy pestrou škálou vhodných biotopů pro jednotlivé druhy plazů. Tato oblast je také charakterizována bouřlivou geologickou minulostí, kdy tektonické pohyby způsobovaly propojení, či naopak izolaci této oblasti od okolí, a dá se tedy předpokládat, že výrazně formovaly místní biotu, která je v mnoha aspektech unikátní. Jak tyto procesy, ale nejen tyto, v minulosti formovaly herpetofaunu Arábie je otázka, která byla v minulosti studována spíše jen okrajově. V této práci byla analyzována data použita k fylogenetickým analýzám v dříve publikovaných pracích. Důležitým faktem je, že v této práci byla analyzována data také pro nearabské zástupce šupinatých plazů, především pro vzájemné porovnání diversifikační dynamiky, jelikož se předpokládalo, že by se měla mezi arabskými a nearabskými zástupci lišit. V této práci byly analyzovány druhově bohaté rody šupinatých plazů, které obývají obě výše zmíněné oblasti. Jedná se o rody Acanthodactylus, Echis, Hemidactylus, Mesalina,...
