Gruzie na pomezí mezi Ruskou federací a západním světem

Abstract

This master thesis focuses on the historical and modern development of Georgia and its influence on the current context, touching upon the concept of path dependence. The thesis examines the different periods of Georgian development, especially after 1991 and the independence from the USSR, mainly from the perspective of the concept of Europeanization. Within these periods, this thesis also examines Georgia's geopolitical position and the international and regional factors that influenced this position. Furthermore, the concept of "soft power" will be used, mainly from the perspective of the Russian Federation and how and possibly when Russia used it against Georgia. The main period examined from the perspective of the Georgian Europeanisation process will be the period after 2003, i.e. after the Rose Revolution, when Mikheil Saakashvili, who was very pro-European and pro-reform-minded, became the head of the state. However, the current context will also be key, i.e. the period of the Georgian Dream's domination, the influence of the billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili and the situation after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje historickému a modernímu vývoji zakavkazské Gruzie a jejímu vlivu na aktuální souvislosti, dotkne se tedy konceptu path dependence. Diplomová práce zkoumá jednotlivá období gruzínského vývoje, především po roce 1991 a tedy nabytí nezávislosti na SSSR, hlavně z pohledu konceptu europeizace. V rámci těchto období se tato diplomová práce také věnuje geopolitické pozici Gruzie a mezinárodním i regionálním faktorům, které tuto pozici ovlivňovaly. Dále bude využit koncept "soft power" a to především z pohledu Ruské federace, tedy v jakých případech a zároveň kdy ji Rusko proti Gruzii využilo. Hlavním zkoumaným obdobím z pohledu gruzínského europeizačního procesu bude období po roce 2003, tedy po Růžové revoluci, kdy se do čela tohoto státu postavil velmi proevropsky a proreformně smýšlející Mikheil Saakašvili. Klíčové budou ale i aktuální souvislosti, tedy období nadvlády Gruzínského snu, vlivu miliardáře Bidzina Ivanišviliho a situace po ruské invazi na Ukrajinu.
