Stereotypizace osob na autistickém spektru ve filmové a seriálové tvorbě a jimi preferované zobrazení v těchto obsazích

Abstract

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the portrayal of people with ASD in films and TV series with a focus on stereotyping. The aim of the thesis is to find out what portrayal of characters with ASD in films and TV shows is preferred by people with ASD or their parents. The theoretical part focuses on the media and society with a focus on fictional films and series, introduces autism, discusses stereotyping and summarises previous studies on the portrayal of people with ASD in films and series. The practical and analytical part of the thesis describes the implementation of the research, evaluation and interpretation of the data. I used a qualitative method, specifically in-depth interviews, and followed the grounded theory of Juliet Corbin and Anselm Strauss in my analysis. The central category, Relationship between Authenticity and Stereotyping, expresses the interesting finding that authenticity and stereotyping can be in opposition, but can also be intertwined, according to the respondents. This view is based on the diversity of the ASD community as perceived by respondents. Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje zobrazování osob s PAS ve filmech a seriálech se zaměřením na stereotypizaci. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaké zobrazení postav s PAS ve filmech a seriálech preferují osoby s PAS, případně jejich rodiče. Teoretická část se věnuje médiím a společnosti se zaměřením na fikční filmy a seriály, přibližuje autismus, věnuje se stereotypizaci a shrnuje dosavadní studie týkající se zobrazování osob s PAS ve filmech a seriálech. Praktická a analytická část práce popisuje realizaci výzkumu, vyhodnocení a interpretaci dat. Použila jsem kvalitativní metodu, konkrétně hloubkový rozhovor, při analýze jsem postupovala podle zakotvené teorie Juliet Corbinové a Anselma Strausse. Centrální kategorie Vztah autenticity a stereotypizace vyjadřuje zajímavé zjištění, že autenticita a stereotypizace mohou být podle respondentů v opozici, ale mohou se i prolínat. Tento názor vychází z pestrosti PAS komunity, jak ji respondenti vnímají. Preferované zobrazení postav s PAS ve filmech a seriálech podle osob s PAS, případně jejich rodičů je dle výsledků tohoto výzkumu autentické, pestré a smysluplné.
