Komparace vybraných českých hraných pohádek natočených před rokem 1990 a po něm na základě testu Bechdelové

Abstract

This thesis deals with the issue of gender representation in Czechoslovak and Czech feature film fairy tales. Although the unequal representation of women in media is a widely discussed topic in media studies, the area of gender stereotyping in fairy tales remains relatively neglected. The aim of this paper is to assess, through qualitative content analysis, the representation of female characters in a sample of sixteen popular fairy tales - eight from the socialist period and eight from the post-1993 period. The analysis was conducted using the Bechdel test as an indicative indicator of the presence and relevance of female characters. The results show that only half of the fairy tales from the two selected periods meet the conditions of the Bechdel test. At the same time, the hypothesis that films with more involvement of female characters in the plot tend to be better evaluated by the audience is confirmed. The results are presented in the form of tables and graphs that allow a clear comparison of the two time periods. The paper contributes to the broadening of the discourse on gender aspects of media production in the Czech context and points to the need for a deeper reflection on the representation of women in children's film production.

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou genderové reprezentace v československých a českých hraných filmových pohádkách. Přestože nerovné zastoupení žen v médiích je v oblasti mediálních studií hojně diskutovaným tématem, oblast genderové stereotypizace v pohádkové tvorbě zůstává relativně opomíjená. Cílem práce je prostřednictvím kvalitativní obsahové analýzy zhodnotit zastoupení ženských postav ve vybraném vzorku šestnácti populárních pohádek - osmi z období socialismu a osmi z období po roce 1993. Analýza probíhala pomocí testu Bechdelové jako orientačního ukazatele přítomnosti a relevance ženských postav. Výsledky ukazují, že pouze polovina pohádek z obou vybraných období splňuje podmínky testu Bechdelové. Zároveň se potvrzuje hypotéza, že filmy s větším zapojením ženských postav do děje bývají diváky lépe hodnoceny. Výsledky jsou prezentovány formou tabulek a grafů, které umožňují přehledné porovnání obou časových období. Práce přispívá k rozšíření diskurzu o genderových aspektech mediální produkce v českém kontextu a poukazuje na potřebu hlubší reflexe reprezentace žen v dětské filmové tvorbě.
