Zkušenosti studentů a absolventů EMCI s výukou tlumočení na dálku po skončení pandemie

Abstract

During the COVID pandemic, interpreting classes moved online, using different types of internet communication platforms. The biggest challenge at the time was teaching simultaneous interpreting, which requires special equipment. In this diploma thesis, we describe the development and current understanding of concepts such as distance interpreting and remote simultaneous interpreting (RSI) and provide an overview of the platforms that have been or are being used to teach them. We also summarize existing academic work evaluating students' experience with distance learning and online platforms, and compare the results of the EMCI consortium's 2021 research with our own questionnaire from the 2022/2023 academic year. In the last section of the thesis, we present the results of a 2025 questionnaire, which was also completed by students and recent graduates of interpreting programs at EMCI universities, and we focus on how they use online platforms today, years after the end of the pandemic.

Tlumočnická výuka se během pandemie covidu na určitou dobu přesunula do online prostředí a na různé druhy internetových komunikačních platforem. Největší výzvou byla v té době výuka simultánního tlumočení, která vyžaduje speciální vybavení. V této práci popisujeme vývoj i současné chápání pojmů, jako je distanční tlumočení nebo simultánní tlumočení na dálku (RSI) a poskytujeme přehled platforem, které se pro jejich výuku používaly nebo používají. Dále shrnujeme dosavadní akademické práce, jež vyhodnocují zkušenosti studentů s distanční výukou a zmiňovanými platformami, a porovnáváme výsledky výzkumu konsorcia EMCI z roku 2021 s vlastním dotazníkem z akademického roku 2022/2023. V poslední části prezentujeme výsledky dotazníku z roku 2025, kterého se rovněž účastnili studenti a nedávní absolventi tlumočnických oborů na univerzitách spadajících pod EMCI, a zaměřujeme se na to, jak online platformy používají v současnosti, roky po konci pandemie.
