The Tomb of Sabu Kem (C23) at Saqqara

Abstract

This thesis presents a comprehensive study of the tomb of Sabu Kem (C23), integrating architectural, iconographic, epigraphic, and contextual analyses to situate the monument within broader Old Kingdom context. It documents the tomb's layout and construction techniques; reconstructs the decorative program with attention to theme, style, and workshop practice; inventories the associated finds and their depositional history; and collates the owner's names and titles from inscriptions and related sources.

Tato diplomová práce představuje komplexní studii hrobky Sabu Kema (C23), která propojuje architektonickou, ikonografickou, epigrafickou a kontextuální analýzu s cílem zasadit tento monument do širšího rámce doby Staré říše. Práce dokumentuje půdorys hrobky a stavební techniky, rekonstruuje její výzdobný program s důrazem na témata, styl a zpracování, inventarizuje nálezy z archeologických vykopávek a shromažďuje jméno a tituly majitele na základě nápisů a dalších pramenů.
