Abstract

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na zvýznamňování queer identit ze strany osob pocházejících z tzv. Západu a žijících v Praze. Cílem práce je porozumět tomu, jak tyto osoby konstruují, performují a vyjednávají svou identitu v prostředí tzv. Východu, které je vnímáno jako specificky jiné. Z teoretického hlediska je práce postavena na queer teorii, a to zejména s ohledem na otázku identity. Dále je zde analyzovaná dichotomie tzv. Západu a Východu v evropském kontextu, která prostupuje celou prací, ať už skrze předpoklad univerzálně přenositelné queer zkušenosti či skrze narativ šedivé opožděnosti. Výzkum je založen na feministických polostrukturovaných rozhovorech s queer osobami žijícími v Praze.

This diploma thesis focuses on the significance of queer identities among individuals from the so-called West living in Prague. The aim is to understand how these individuals construct, perform, and negotiate their identity in the space of the so-called East, which is perceived as specifically different. The theoretical framework of the thesis is based on queer theory, particularly focusing on the question of identity. Furthermore, the thesis analyses the East-West dichotomy in the European context, which permeates the entire work, whether from the premise of a universally transferable queer experience or through the grey lagging- behind narrative. The research is based on feminist semi-structured interviews with queer individuals living in Prague who are active in the local queer scene.
