Abstract

Bakalářská práce Politika paměti: porovnání přístupů k minulosti politickými stranami Alternativa pro Německo a Liga zkoumá, jak tyto dvě pravicově populistické strany využívají nacistickou a fašistickou minulost ve své politické rétorice. Srovnávací analýza je založena na šesti kategoriích: kritika kultury vzpomínání, bagatelizace závažnosti zločinů nacistického a fašistického režimu, obrácení rolí viníka a oběti, používání falešné minulosti, vyvolávání spojení s temnou minulostí a popírání spojení s temnou minulostí. Práce dochází k závěru, že obě strany využívají minulost k politické mobilizaci, avšak rozdílnými způsoby. Alternativa pro Německo se častěji a systematičtěji vymezuje vůči dominantní kultuře vzpomínání v Německu. Liga se zase vyjadřuje často otevřeněji a explicitněji v otázkách reinterpretace minulosti, zejména pokud jde o bagatelizaci fašistických zločinů nebo vyvolávání spojení s temnou minulostí. Její projevy bývají méně opatrné a častěji sdělované přímo lídrem strany. Na rozdíly v přístupech k problematické minulosti má vliv historický kontext i povaha stran.

The bachelor's thesis The politics of memory: a comparison of approaches to the past by the political parties Alternative for Germany and the League examines how these two right-wing populist parties use the Nazi and Fascist past in their political rhetoric. The analysis is based on six analytical categories: criticism of the culture of remembrance, trivialization of Nazi and Fascist crimes, reversal of the roles of perpetrators and victims, use of a false past, evocation of connections to the dark past and denial of connections to the dark past. The thesis concludes that both parties use the past for political mobilization, but do so in different ways. Alternative for Germany more frequently and systematically positions itself in opposition to the dominant culture of remembrance in Germany. In contrast, the League tends to express itself more openly and explicitly on issues of historical reinterpretation, particularly when it comes to trivialization of Fascist crimes or evoking connections to the dark past. Its messages are typically less restrained and are often communicated directly by the party leader. These differences in approach are shaped both by the historical contexts of Germany and Italy and by the internal characteristics of the parties.
