Nora Görner, Schriftstellerin und Akteurin der prager Frauenbewegung

Abstract

This thesis focuses on the life and work of the Prague German author Nora Görner (1832-1910). The thesis concentrates not only on her literary work, but also on the extensive social activities to which the author dedicated her life, thus promoting education and the possibility of better social anchoring of girls and women in 19th century Prague German speaking society. The main part of the thesis analyses the realistic social novel Veränderte Verhältnisse, which focuses on the characteristics of bourgeois and aristocratic society and the movements of the characters between them. Using Yuri Lotman's theory, it explores for which of the selected characters the boundary between these worlds becomes permeable and for which, on the contrary, an attempt to cross it, leads to failure or punishment. The aim of this paper is to analyze how Nora Görner's novel thematizes the issue of crossing social boundaries and learning, adapting and adopting new social codes. The thesis also aims to trace and describe Nora Görner's social activities.

Tato práce se zabývá životem a dílem pražské německé autorky Nory Görnerové (1832-1910). Práce se soustředí nejen na literární tvorbu, nýbrž i na rozsáhlou spolkovou činnost, které autorka zasvětila svůj život a podporovala tím vzdělávání a možnost lepšího sociálního ukotvení dívek a žen v pražské německojazyčné společnosti 19. století. Hlavní část práce analyzuje realistický společenský román Veränderte Verhältnisse, který se zaměřuje na charakteristiku měšťanské a aristokratické společnosti a na pohyby postav mezi nimi. S využitím teorie Jurije Lotmana zkoumá, pro které z vybraných postav se hranice mezi těmito světy stává propustná a pro které naopak vede pokus o překročení k selhání či potrestání. Cílem této práce je analyzovat, jak Nora Görnerová ve svém románu tematizuje problematiku překračování společenských hranic a učenlivost, přizpůsobivost a osvojování si nových sociálních kódů. Práce si dále klade za cíl dohledat a popsat spolkovou činnost Nory Görnerové.
