Abstract

This bachelor thesis provides a translation of a selected part from the fifth chapter of Jonathan Haidt's book The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness. The selected chapter is "The Four Foundational Harms: Social Deprivation, Sleep Deprivation, Attention Fragmentation, and Addiction". The theoretical part consists of an analysis of the original text, a description of the translation method and the typology of the translation problems, as well as of a description of their solutions.
