Způsoby vypovídání o Bohu podle Jana Eriugeny s přihlédnutím k jejich původu u Pseudo-Dionysia Areopagity

Abstract

This bachelor's thesis is concerned with the methods of speaking about God according to John Eriugena. These methods are primarily kataphatic and apophatic approaches to theology, but also speech using terms such as super-essential, generally called plus-quam predication for the sake of this thesis. Since Eriugena receives these methods of speaking from pseudo-Dionysisus the Areopagite, this author is also considered by the thesis, but only as a reference point serving to highlight Eriugena's possibly differing interpretations of the theological methods. Eriugena's position on the topic is the focal point here. The scope of research is limited to the first book of the Periphyseon text by John Eriugena. The initial hypothesis claims that the reason for Eriugena's extensive interpretation and possible disparities therein is the difference between the aims of both authors and their goals in writing their respective works. As a precursor to the analysis of kataphatic theology serves the explanation concerning the notion of Divine names and the division of these names into classes "differentiated" and "undifferentiated". Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje způsobům vypovídání o Bohu u Jana Eriugeny. Těmito způsoby vypovídání jsou zejména katafatická a apofatická theologie, ale také mluva užívající výrazy typu nadjsoucí, která je v práci označována jako predikace plus-quam. Vzhledem k tomu, že Eriugena tyto způsoby vypovídání o Bohu přebírá od pseudo-Dionysia Areopagity, je v práci tento autor přítomen jako stálý referenční bod, nejedná se však o důslednou komparaci, ale spíše o detailní vyložení toho, jak Jan Eriugena používá a chápe theologické cesty. Tato práce se orientuje pouze na první knihu díla Periphyseon. Jejím rámujícím předpokladem je vysvětlení posunů v Eriugenově interpretaci způsobů vypovídání o Bohu oproti pseudo-Dionysiově odlišným zaměřením a záměrem Eriugenova díla. Jako úvod do problematiky katafatické theologie slouží analýza konceptu božských jmen a jejich členění na sjednocená a rozlišená. První velkou odlišností mezi pojetími obou autorů je status symbolické theologie, kterou Jan Eriugena začleňuje pod katafatickou theologii. Samotná katafatická theologie je Eriugenou vykládána jako metaforická. Eriugena také označuje predikaci plus-quam za "syntézu" nebo kombinaci obou hlavních theologií, která v sobě snoubí katafatickou formu tvrzení s negativním obsahem.
