Role komunitních služeb při předcházení institucionalizované péče z pohledu seniorů

Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of supporting older adults through community services in the context of preventing institutionalised care. The aim of the thesis is to understand how seniors perceive the role of community services in preventing institutionalised care and to identify factors that influence their decision to use and remain in these services instead of transitioning to institutional services. In the theoretical part of the thesis the basic concepts of ageing and old age, current demographic challenges and the historical development of elderly care in the Czech Republic are presented. Furthermore, the thesis describes the current system of care for older adults with an emphasis on the process of deinstitutionalisation and introduces various forms of community services older adults. The empirical part of the thesis is based on qualitative research carried out through semi-structured interviews with eight older adults who are users of respite services and day care centres. Thematic analysis of the data shows that older adults show high satisfaction with community services and perceive them as an opportunity to maintain their autonomy, dignity and self-sufficiency, to stay in a natural environment and at the same time to get the necessary support. Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem podpory seniorů prostřednictvím komunitních služeb v kontextu předcházení institucionalizované péče. Cílem práce je porozumět tomu, jak senioři vnímají roli komunitních služeb při předcházení institucionalizované péče, a identifikovat faktory, které ovlivňují jejich rozhodování o využití a setrvání v těchto službách namísto přechodu do institucionálních zařízení. V teoretické části práce jsou přiblíženy základní pojmy stárnutí a stáří, současné demografické výzvy a historický vývoj péče o seniory v České republice. Dále práce popisuje současný systém péče o seniory s důrazem na proces deinstitucionalizace a přibližuje jednotlivé formy komunitních služeb pro seniory. Empirická část práce vychází z kvalitativního výzkumu realizovaného prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s osmi seniory, kteří jsou uživateli odlehčovací služby a denního stacionáře. Tematická analýza dat ukazuje, že senioři vykazují velkou spokojenost s komunitními službami a vnímají je jako možnost, jak si zachovat svou autonomii, důstojnost a soběstačnost, zůstat v přirozeném prostředí a současně získat potřebnou podporu.
