Rovnost, volnost, ladnost: ženský odbor Sokola a aktivity žen v Turnově na přelomu 19. a 20. století

Abstract

This bachelor's thesis primarily discusses the women's section of Sokol in Turnov from its establishment in 1900 until the end of World War I in 1918. It is based on available sources, periodicals of the time, and scholarly literature. Attention is also given to other associations and activities of women in the public sphere at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The thesis describes the functioning of the women's section, its daily operations, financial matters, exceptional events and celebrations, as well as its connections with other associations. Activities and the number of exercising women are compared with those of men. The thesis also examines the cooperation of the women's section with other regions and the center, including participation in all-Sokol gatherings. The topic is addressed with regard to the development of the Sokol movement in general, with a special focus on the women's Sokol movement. The aim of the thesis is to highlight the activity of women in associations and their public engagement within the city in the context of social life during the given period. Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na ženský odbor Sokola v Turnově od jeho vzniku v roce 1900 až do konce první světové války roku 1918. Vychází z dostupných pramenů, dobových periodik a odborné literatury. Vedle fungování ženského odboru se věnuje i dalším spolkům a aktivitám žen ve veřejném prostoru na přelomu 19. a 20. století na Turnovsku. V rámci práce je popsán každodenní provoz ženského odboru, finanční záležitosti, výjimečné události a slavnosti, stejně jako propojení s jinými spolky. Jsou také porovnávány aktivity a počet cvičících žen a mužů. Práce se také zabývá spoluprací ženského odboru s dalšími regiony a centrem, včetně účasti na všesokolských sletech. Tematika je zpracovávána s ohledem na vývoj sokolského hnutí obecně, se zvláštním zaměřením na sokolské hnutí žen.
