Strukturální analýza determinantů individuální podpory redistribuce v České republice

Abstract

The aim of this work is to analyse influence of selected determinants of redistributive preferences in the Czech Republic and to examine their mutual relationships. This thesis seeks to contribute to the understanding of the mechanisms that shape redistributive attitudes and thus expand the existing literature dealing with this topic. Specifically, the work analyses the effects of socio-economic status, perceived inequality and two main ideologies of distributive justice in the Czech context - egalitarianism and meritocracy. To achieve these objectives, Czech data from the international survey ISSP 2009 Social Inequality III, were used. Despite them being outdated, the dataset contains all relevant variables required for the analysis. The data analysis is conducted in the statistical software R. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is chosen as the primary analytical method and is supplemented with regression analysis. The findings of the study yield mixed results. Both structural models fit the data well and can therefore be accepted. The structural models indicate the existence of a mediating effect of egalitarianism on the relationship between socio-economic status and redistributive preferences. Cílem této práce je analyzovat působení vybraných determinantů redistribučních preferencí v České republice a zkoumat jejich vzájemné interakce. Svojí podstatou se snaží přispět k pochopení mechanismů, které formují redistribuční postoje, a rozšířit tak stávající literaturu zabývající se touto tématikou. Konkrétně jsou v práci analyzovány vlivy socioekonomického postavení, vnímané nerovnosti a dvou hlavních ideologií distributivní spravedlnosti v českém kontextu - rovnostářství a meritokracie. K dosažení stanovených cílů byla vybrána česká data z mezinárodního šetření ISSP 2009, modulu Sociální nerovnosti III, která i přes svoji neaktuálnost obsahují všechny potřebné proměnné. Analýza dat je realizována ve statistickém prostředí R. Jako hlavní metoda pro analýzu dat bylo zvoleno strukturální modelování (SEM), které je následně doplněno o regresní analýzu. Zjištění této práce přinášejí smíšené výsledky. Oba strukturální modely vhodně reprezentují data a mohou být tedy přijaty. Strukturální modely poukazují na existenci mediačního efektu rovnostářství na vztah mezi socioekonomickým statusem a redistribučními preferencemi.
