Postavení žen ve zdravotnictví

Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the status of women in health care in the Czech Republic with a focus on gender discrimination. The aim of the thesis was to identify the occurrence and frequency of discriminatory behaviour in the healthcare sector, both during the course of study and in the practice of the profession. The research was carried out using a qualitative method and data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews with female doctors and students of the Czech healthcare sector. The results showed that gender discrimination in healthcare persists despite the increasing representation of women, with its forms and intensity varying according to the degree of feminisation of the field. This, together with gender stereotypes, influences working conditions, as revealed by a comparison of three specialisations - surgery, dentistry, internal medicine. Particular attention was paid to the impact of motherhood on the professional careers of female doctors and the effects of discrimination on working conditions, job satisfaction and the mental and physical health of female doctors and students.

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá postavením žen ve zdravotnictví v České republice se zaměřením na genderovou diskriminaci. Cílem práce bylo identifikovat výskyt a frekvenci diskriminačního chování ve zdravotnictví, a to jak v průběhu studia, tak při výkonu profese. Výzkum byl realizován kvalitativní metodou a sběr dat probíhal prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s lékařkami a studentkami českého zdravotnictví. Výsledky ukázaly, že genderová diskriminace ve zdravotnictví přetrvává navzdory rostoucímu zastoupení žen, přičemž její formy a intenzita se liší podle míry feminizace oboru. Ta spolu s genderovými stereotypy ovlivňuje pracovní podmínky, jak odhalilo porovnání tří specializací - chirurgie, stomatologie, vnitřní lékařství. Zvláštní pozornost byla věnována vlivu mateřství na profesní kariéru lékařek a dopadům diskriminace na pracovní podmínky, spokojenost i duševní a fyzické zdraví lékařek i studentek.
