Povědomí veřejnosti o možnostech asistované reprodukce

Abstract

Assisted reproduction (AR) is a modern solution to the growing fertility problems, and its knowledge among the public is far from sufficient. This paper summarizes the historical development of AR, causes of infertility, available treatment methods, their risks, legislative framework, ethical issues and financial aspects in the Czech Republic. In the practical part, an anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted among 72 respondents of different age, gender and education. The aim of this questionnaire was to test five research hypotheses focusing on differences in awareness by gender, the influence of educational attainment on ethical attitudes and trust in physicians, personal experience with AR, awareness of the risks of AR together with knowledge of the legal and financial conditions. The results showed that women had higher knowledge than men, with men showing lower accuracy for most answers, especially in the areas of legislation and risks. Although respondents with less education showed lower trust in doctors compared to other groups of respondents, ethical attitudes were not directly proportional to educational attainment. Asistovaná reprodukce (AR) představuje moderní řešení narůstajících problémů s plodností, přičemž její znalost mezi veřejností není zdaleka dostatečná. Tato práce shrnuje historický vývoj AR, příčiny neplodnosti, dostupné metody léčby, jejich rizika, legislativní rámec, etickou problematiku a finanční aspekty v České republice. V praktické části byl proveden anonymní dotazníkový průzkum mezi 72 respondenty různého věku, pohlaví a vzdělání. Cílem tohoto dotazníku bylo ověřit pět výzkumných hypotéz zaměřených na rozdíly v povědomí podle pohlaví, vliv dosaženého vzdělání na etické postoje a důvěru v lékaře, osobní zkušenost s AR, povědomí o rizicích AR společně se znalostí právních a finančních podmínek. Výsledky ukázaly, že ženy měly vyšší znalosti než muži, přičemž muži vykazovali nižší správnost u většiny odpovědí, zejména v oblastech legislativy a rizik. Respondenti s nižším vzděláním sice projevovali nižší důvěru v lékaře oproti ostatním skupinám respondentů, ale etické postoje nebyly přímo úměrné dosaženému vzdělání. Ženy nad 40 let měly častější osobní zkušenost s AR, nebylo u těchto žen však specifikováno, kdy k této skutečnosti došlo.
