Komparativní obsahová analýza populistického narativu v mediálním obsahu na sociálních sítích Mattea Salviniho a Tomia Okamury

Abstract

The present bachelor's thesis aims to compare the visual and textual content of the speech of two populist leaders active on the current European Union political scene, Tomio Okamura and Matteo Salvini. These right-oriented movements' leaders show a high degree of populism usage, in terms of communication strategy, and populist ideology itself. The ambition of the analysis is therefore to compare and describe the extent of similarity between the narratives of the Czech leader of the opposition movement and the Italian deputy prime minister and head of the ruling party. The thematic concretization together with describing the subjects emphasized by the two populists is intended to help in better understanding the communication strategies used by these far-right leaders as well as other resembling politicians, in order to reach the broad masses of the public. Importantly, the thesis focuses on the orientation among different descriptions and definitions of the populism-concept itself, together with its practical application in the current geopolitical context, from the last European Parliament elections in June 2024, to the war conflict in Ukraine.

Předkládaná bakalářská práce si klade za cíl komparovat vizuální a textový obsah projevu dvou populistických lídrů působících na aktuální politické scéně Evropské unie, Tomia Okamury a Mattea Salviniho. Tito lídři dvou pravicově orientovaných hnutí vykazují velkou míru využití populismu, z hlediska komunikační strategie, i populistické ideologie samotné. Ambicí provedené analýzy je komparace a následný popis toho, v jakém rozsahu jsou narativy českého vůdce opozičního hnutí a italského vicepremiéra a šéfa vládní strany podobné. Konkretizace a popis témat shodně akcentovaných oběma populisty má dopomoci k lepšímu pochopení komunikačních strategií, které tito krajně pravicoví lídři, a politici jim podobní využívají, s cílem oslovit široké masy veřejnosti. V neposlední řadě se práce soustředí na popis, orientaci a ukotvení v již existujících definicích konceptu populismu samotného, stejně tak, jako na praktické uplatnění tohoto fenoménu v aktuálním geopolitickém kontextu, od uplynulých voleb do Evropského parlamentu v červnu 2024, až po válečný konflikt na Ukrajině.
