Genderově inkluzivní jazyk v české žurnalistice: jazykové možnosti a současná praxe

Abstract

The Master's Thesis examines the possibilities of gender-inclusive Czech language and its potential application in journalism. The aim of the thesis is to present the issue of gender- inclusive Czech language in the media through the perspective of two groups - transgender and gender-diverse people, and linguists. Based on qualitative interviews, diverse opinions, experiences and expertise related to the options of gender-inclusive Czech were explored. Among the things I have examined were perspectives on the functionality and limits of the examined variants, relevance of linguistic norms and codification, and perceptions of possible changes in journalistic practice. The purpose of the thesis is to deepen the discussion of the current media's options in relation to the topic of gender and language. Based on the analysis of the interviews, it was suggested that the absence of codification and the plurality of possible options may not be a major obstacle for journalism. The transformation of journalistic practice in relation to the potential use of gender inclusive language would mainly consist in organized education and communication with the audience, not by the mere use of specific terms in texts.

Diplomová práce sleduje možnosti genderově inkluzivního českého jazyka a jejich potenciální uplatnění v žurnalistice. Cílem práce je představit problematiku genderově inkluzivní češtiny v médiích prostřednictvím pohledu dvou skupin - transgender a genderově rozmanitých lidí a lingvistů a lingvistek. Na základě kvalitativních rozhovorů byly zkoumány různé názory, zkušenosti a odborné poznatky spojené s možnostmi genderově inkluzivní češtiny. Zajímala jsem se mimo jiné o pohledy na funkčnost a limity vybraných variant, otázku významu spisovných norem a kodifikace či vnímání možných proměn v novinářské praxi. Účelem práce bylo prohloubení diskuze o současných východiscích médií v souvislosti s tématem genderu a jazyka. Na základě analýzy rozhovorů byla vyslovena domněnka, že absence kodifikace a pluralita variant nemusí být pro žurnalistiku hlavní překážkou. Proměna novinářské praxe v souvislosti s potenciálním využíváním genderově inkluzivního jazyka by spočívala zejména v osvětě a komunikace s publikem, ne samotným zaváděním konkrétních výrazů v textech.
