Kritická reflexe románu Jezero autorky Biancy Bellové v tuzemsku a zahraničí

Abstract

The book Jezero by Bianca Bellová is one of the most important works of contemporary Czech literature. The novella has attracted attention not only on the domestic literary scene, where it won the Magnesia Litera Literary Prize (2017), but also internationaly, when it was awarded the European Union Prize for Literature (2017), and the prestigious European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Prize (2023) for its English translation. To achieve a comprehensive picture of the perception of this work, it is therefore necessary to look not only at Czech critical texts, but also at foreign ones. The aim of this thesis is to answer the research question whether and how does the domestic and international critical responses differ. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts of literary criticism, introduces the author's work and its placement in the context of contemporary Czech literature. In the analytic part, the critical reflections in the Czech Republic and abroad are presented, and then both sides are compared. The research results show that the compared responses show differences. Kniha Jezero autorky Biancy Bellové patří k významným dílům současné české literatury. Novela zaujala nejen na naší literární scéně, kde získala literární cenu Magnesia Litera (2017), ale i na té mezinárodní, kde se jí dostalo ocenění Cenou Evropské unie za literaturu (2017), za anglický překlad pak získala i prestižní Cenu Evropské banky pro obnovu a rozvoj (2023). Pro dosažení komplexního obrazu percepce díla je proto nutné zabývat se nejen českými kritickými texty, ale i těmi zahraničními. Cílem práce je proto odpovědět na výzkumnou otázku, zda a jak se liší domácí a světové kritické ohlasy hodnotící vybrané dílo. Kapitoly teoretické části jsou věnovány vymezení základních pojmů literární kritiky, představení tvorby autorky a jejímu zařazení do kontextu současné české literatury. V analytické části je představena kritická reflexe v Česku a zahraničí, obě strany jsou následně srovnávány. Z výsledků výzkumu vyplývá, že poměřované skupiny textů vykazují určité rozdíly. Ty nejvýraznější můžeme sledovat v míře kritičnosti a zařazení díla do literárního kontextu, určité odlišnosti ale můžeme sledovat i v jiných hodnocených aspektech - například interpretaci díla či vnímání hlavní postavy.
