Proměny reprezentace genderu v českých filmových pohádkách

Abstract

This thesis focuses on the analysis of changes in the representation of gender and gender stereotypes in Czech film fairy tales in the time period from the 1950s to the present. The aim of the thesis is to identify and describe the changes in gender patterns in fairy tale narratives and to evaluate to what extent the portrayal of male and female characters and their relationships in classic and modern film fairy tales is changing. In the theoretical part, focus is given to the key concepts of gender, gender roles and stereotypes, as well as the specifics of the fairy tale as a media genre. The analytical part of the thesis uses a qualitative thematic analysis of eight selected film fairy tales, focusing on aspects of character activity and passivity, stereotypical characteristics, the construction of romantic love, and the emotional expressions of the protagonists. The results of the analysis show that although a certain shift towards more active and less stereotypical characters can be observed in more recent fairy tales, traditional gender patterns and romantic narratives continue to strongly influence the shape of fairy tale stories. At the same time, the thesis highlights the selective and often ambivalent nature of these transformations, which suggests a gradual but not definitive process.

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou proměn reprezentace genderu a genderových stereotypů v českých filmových pohádkách v časovém rozmezí od 50. let 20. století po současnost. Cílem práce je identifikovat a popsat proměny genderových vzorců v pohádkových narativech a zhodnotit, do jaké míry se mění zobrazování mužských a ženských postav a jejich vztahů v klasických a novodobých filmových pohádkách. V teoretické části je věnována pozornost klíčovým pojmům genderu, genderových rolí a stereotypů, stejně jako specifikům pohádky jako mediálního žánru. Analytická část práce využívá kvalitativní tematickou analýzu osmi vybraných filmových pohádek, přičemž se zaměřuje na aspekty aktivity a pasivity postav, stereotypní charakteristiky, konstrukci romantické lásky a emocionální projevy hrdinů a hrdinek. Výsledky analýzy ukazují, že přestože v novějších pohádkách lze pozorovat určitý posun směrem k aktivnějším a méně stereotypním postavám, tradiční genderové vzorce a romantické narativy nadále výrazně ovlivňují podobu pohádkových příběhů. Práce zároveň upozorňuje na selektivní a často ambivalentní charakter těchto proměn, což svědčí o postupném, nikoli však jednoznačném procesu.
