Argentinsko-britsko-chilské soupeření o Antarktický poloostrov před rokem 1959

Abstract

Tato diplomová práce je zpracována jako přehled mezinárodního zájmu o Antarktický poloostrov a jeho blízké souostroví v období mezi jeho objevením na počátku 19. století po podepsání Smlouvy o Antarktidě v roce 1959. Zaměřuje se především na Argentinu, Chile a Velkou Británii,tedy státy dodnes disponující územními nároky na tuto oblast. Dotýká se ale i polárních aktivit Norů a dalších národů. Porovnává přístupy jednotlivýchstátů,jejichmotivy a cíle a zasazuje je do souvislosti s jejich vnitřní politikou i globálními souvislostmi. Práce byla napsána formou literární rešerše primární a sekundární literaturyve formě knižních publikací a odborných článků. Z jazykového hlediska byla převážná většina zdrojů sepsána v anglickém nebošpanělském jazyce.Z badatelskýchmetodbyla použita metoda komparativní. Strukturálně je práce rozdělena do dvou kapitol o šesti a pěti podkapitolách. První se zabývá událostmi před vypuknutím druhé světové války v roce 1939 a druhá událostmi před podpisem Smlouvy o Antarktidě v roce 1959. Podkapitoly jsou seřazeny chronologicky a obvykle se tematicky soustředí na jeden nebo dva ze zainteresovaných států. This diploma thesis is prepared as an overview of international interest in the Antarctic Peninsula and its nearby archipelagos in the period between its discovery in the early 19th centuryand the signingof the Antarctic Treatyin1959. It focuses primarilyonArgentina,Chile and Great Britain,the states that still have territorialclaims tothis area.However,it alsotouches on the related activities of the Norwegians and other nations. It compares the approaches of individual states,their motives andgoals and places them in the context of their internal politics and global contexts. The thesis was written in the form of a literaryresearch of primaryand secondary literature in the form of book publications and professional articles. Most sources were written in English or Spanish. The comparative method was used as a research method. Structurally,the thesis is dividedintotwo chapters with six and five subchapters.The first deals with the events before the outbreak of World War II in 1939 and the second with the events before the signingof the Antarctic Treatyin1959.The subchapters are arrangedchronologically and usually focus thematically on one or two of the countries involved.
