Robot jako cizinec: analýza vývoje literární menšiny ve sci-fi

Abstract

Disertační práce analyzuje literární reprezentace robotů ve sci-fi žánru z hlediska imagologie a komparativní literární analýzy. Zkoumá, jak jsou roboti konstruováni jako "jiní" a do jaké míry jejich zobrazování reflektuje stereotypizační mechanismy typické pro reprezentaci etnických skupin. Analýza probíhá ve třech rovinách. Intertextová analýza mapuje vývoj literárního etnotypu robota od raných reprezentací umělých bytostí až po jeho ustálení ve sci-fi žánru. Kontextová analýza se zaměřuje na Asimovovu tvorbu a období mezi 30. a 70. lety 20. století kde zkoumá, jak technologické, společenské a kulturní proměny ovlivnily vnímání robotů. Textová analýza, aplikovaná na povídku Dvěstěletý člověk Isaaca Asimova, ukazuje, jak se intertextová tradice a historický kontext promítají do konkrétního díla a jakým způsobem je robot konstruován jako subjekt. Asimovova povídka Dvěstěletý člověk potvrzuje tendenci sci- fi literatury reflektovat otázky emancipace, kdy robot jako literární etnotyp prochází procesem lidské integrace, avšak jeho uznání jako rovnocenného subjektu zůstává podmíněno převzetím lidských vlastností.

The dissertation analyzes literary representations of robots in the science fiction genre from the perspective of imagology and comparative literary analysis. It examines how robots are constructed as the "Other" and to what extent their portrayal reflects stereotypical mechanisms typical of the representation of ethnic groups. The analysis is conducted on three levels. Intertextual analysis maps the development of the literary ethnotype of the robot from early representations of artificial beings to its establishment within the science fiction genre. Contextual analysis focuses on Asimov's literary works and the period between the 1930s and the 1970s, exploring how technological, social, and cultural transformations influenced the perception of robots. Additionally, it explores Asimov's literary works to highlight the most significant instances where stereotypes intersect and influence the portrayal of robots. Textual analysis, applied to Isaac Asimov's short story The Bicentennial Man, illustrates how intertextual tradition and historical context are reflected in a specific literary work and how the robot is constructed as a subject.
