Spanglish v textech latin popu

Abstract

V této diplomové práci se čtenář seznámí s fenoménem spanglish, jeho definicí a jazykovou charakteristikou. Práce nabízí nejen historický přehled o spanglish a španělštině ve Spojených státech amerických, ale i její současný stav a tendence do budoucna. Hlavní částí práce je případová studie spanglish ve vybraných textech latin popu. V té jsou výskyty spanglish ve vlastním korpusu rozděleny podle formy a funkce, tedy z hlediska lingvistického na přejatá slova, kalky a code-switching, a z hlediska funkčního na konkrétní umělecké a socio-pragmatické funkce. Cílem práce je ilustrovat odlišnosti a podobnosti v užívání spanglish, její oblíbenost mezi interprety latin popu a motivace k jejímu začlenění do písňových textů.

In this thesis, the reader is introduced to the phenomenon of Spanglish, its definition and linguistic features. The thesis offers not only a historical overview of Spanglish and Spanish in the United States, but also its current status and future trends. The main part of the thesis is a case study of Spanglish in selected Latin pop lyrics. This classifies the occurrences of Spanglish in my own corpus according to form and function, that is, from a linguistic point of view into loanwords, calques, and code- switching, and from a functional point of view into specific artistic and socio- pragmatic functions. This thesis aims to illustrate the differences and similarities in using Spanglish, its popularity among Latin pop artists, and the motivation for incorporating it into song lyrics.
