Význam a přínos Euroregionu Glacensis z pohledu představitelů samospráv

Abstract

Bachelor thesis focuses on the meaning and benefits of the Euroregion Glacensis from the perspective of representatives of member local governments. The thesis aims to confirm or refute the hypothesis that the existence of the Euroregion Glacensis is still meaningful and that membership in the Euroregion is beneficial. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the characteristics of state borders, cross-border cooperation, and the functioning of euroregions. The practical part is an empirical analysis, and the primary sources are the outcomes of semi- structured interviews, supplemented by a questionnaire survey, conducted with 34 local representatives of towns and municipalities from both the Czech and Polish sides of the Euroregion. Data were collected until theoretical saturation was reached, and the respondent selection strategy also enhanced the representativeness of the sample. Despite the fact that some municipalities have not implemented cross-border projects managed by the Euroregion for a long time and the state border is no longer a physical barrier, this thesis confirms that the Euroregion still holds significance and that membership is beneficial. Bakalářská práce se zabývá významem a přínosem Euroregionu Glacensis z pohledu představitelů samospráv, které jsou jeho součástí. Práce se snaží potvrdit nebo vyvrátit tezi, že existence Euroregionu Glacensis má stále význam a členství v Euroregionu je přínosné. V teoretické části se práce věnuje vlastnostem státních hranic, přeshraniční spolupráci a fungování euroregionů. Praktická část je empirickou analýzou a primárním zdrojem dat jsou výstupy z polostrukturovaných rozhovorů, popřípadě dotazníkového šetření, s 34 představiteli měst a obcí z české i polské části Euroregionu. Výzkum probíhal do dosažení teoretické saturace, přičemž reprezentativnost zkoumaného vzorku byla zvýšena zvolenou strategií pro výběr respondentů. Navzdory tomu, že některé obce již delší dobu nerealizují projekty přeshraniční spolupráce, jejichž správcem je Euroregion a státní hranice nejsou fyzickou překážkou, bylo potvrzeno, že Euroregion má stále význam a členství v něm je přínosné.
