The aim was to determine the level of awareness and attitudes of nurses towards pain management through a questionnaire survey conducted in two hospitals (University Hospital Hradec Králové and Vrchlabí Hospital). The research focused on the level of awareness of nurses and their attitudes towards pain management. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the characteristics of different types of pain, the mechanism of pain, therapeutic approaches and the nursing process in patients with pain. The empirical part focuses on the analysis and presentation of the data obtained through a questionnaire survey in which 146 nurses participated. Výzkum se zaměřil na míru informovanosti sester a jejich postoje k managmentu bolesti. Teoretická část práce se zabývá charakteristikou různých typů bolestí, mechanismu vzniku bolesti, léčebných přístupů a ošetřovatelským procesem u pacientů s bolestí. Empirická část se zaměřuje na analýzu a prezentaci získaných dat prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření, kterého se zúčastnilo 146 sester.
