Socioprostorové aspekty proměn městského cestovního ruchu na příkladu historického centra Prahy

Abstract

Urban tourism has become an increasingly significant topic requiring attention in both urban studies and tourism research. Despite the increasing number of publications and the growing depth of interdisciplinary approaches, studies in the early 2010s remained primarily focused on the experiences of Western cities, leaving the specific processes shaping post-socialist cities largely unexplored. In-depth research into structural changes related to tourism was lacking, as were studies examining their impact on residents' daily lives. The aim of this dissertation is to examine the socio-spatial aspects of urban tourism transformations using the case study of the historic center of Prague. Specifically, the research seeks to determine how tourism alters the urban environment and what consequences these changes have for their occupants. The main empirical research was conducted between 2013 and 2016, utilizing secondary data for comparative analysis of Prague, Viena and Budapest, economic activity mapping, in-depth interviews with residents, visitor surveys, and informal interviews with business owners in the Royal Way. Navzdory rostoucímu počtu publikací a postupně se prohlubujícím interdisciplinárním přístupem, ještě na počátku druhé dekády 21. století se však většina textů zaměřovala primárně na zkušenosti západních měst, zatímco specifické procesy probíhající v postsocialistických městech zůstávaly nedostatečně prozkoumány. Omezené bylo jak hlubší zkoumání strukturálních změn ve vztahu k cestovnímu ruchu, tak výzkum jejich dopadů na každodenní život místních obyvatel. Cílem předkládané disertační práce bylo postihnout socioprostorové aspekty proměn městského cestovního ruchu na příkladu historického centra Prahy. Neboli zjistit, jak cestovní ruch mění městské prostředí a jaké důsledky tento proces má na uživatele zkoumaného prostoru. Hlavní část empirického výzkumu byla realizována v letech 2013 až 2016, kdy byly provedeny analýzy sekundárních dat pro komparaci situace v Praze, Vídni a Budapešti, mapování ekonomických aktivit, hloubkové rozhovory s místními obyvateli, anketní šetření mezi návštěvníky a neformální rozhovory s podnikateli v oblasti Královské cesty.
