Válka na obrazovce: Násilí v televizním zpravodajství z války na Ukrajině

Abstract

Tato diplomová práce přibližuje, jak české zpravodajské televize pokrývaly průběh ruské invaze na Ukrajinu s důrazem na zobrazení násilí. Nastiňuje fungování zpravodajské televizní redakce, proces výběru zpráv a roli editora jako gatekeepera. Dále přibližuje teorie, které se zabývají televizní žurnalistikou a novinářskou prací ve válečném konfliktu a její stručnou historii. Kromě toho se věnovala mediálním teoriím, které se věnují dopadu novinářské práce na společnost. Výzkumná část představuje výsledky obsahové analýzy hlavních zpravodajských relací - Událostí České televize, Hlavních zpráv CNN Prima News a Televizních novin TV Nova v období od 23. února do 22. dubna 2022. Zkoumané proměnné se pojily s průběhem a způsobem zpracování vysílaných scén zobrazujících násilí. Dále byly provedeny polostrukturované rozhovory s editory zpravodajských televizí s cílem zjistit mechanismy, které v práci s násilnými záběry uplatňují a jejich pohled na tuto problematiku z hlediska etiky.

This thesis presents how Czech news television covered the Russian invasion of Ukraine with an emphasis on the depiction of violence. It outlines the workings of the television newsroom, the news selection process and the role of the editor as gatekeeper. It also presents theories that deal with television journalism and journalistic work in wartime conflict and a brief history of it. In addition, it discusses media theories that address the impact of journalistic work on society. The research section presents the results of a content analysis of the main news broadcasts - Události on Czech Television, Hlavní zprávy on CNN Prima News and Televizní noviny on TV Nova in the period from 23 February to 22 April 2022. The variables examined were related to the course and manner of processing of the broadcast scenes depicting violence. In addition, semi- structured interviews were conducted with editors of the news television stations to determine the mechanisms they employ in dealing with violent images and their perspective on this issue from an ethical perspective.
