Srovnání přístupu Housing first a Housing ready

Abstract

Tato práce se věnuje porovnání dvou přístupů k otázce řešení problematiky bezdomovectví, a to přístupů Housing First a Housing Ready. Ke srovnání využívá již existující studie věnované komparacím kvantitativních dat v rámci jim vlastního výzkumu. Na základě syntézy těchto tří studií pak tato práce odpovídá na otázku toho, který z přístupů je lepší. Text se věnuje představení studií, jejich měřícím nástrojům a primárně také souhrnu výsledků, ke kterým studie došly. V rámci části věnované výsledkům studií jsou zmíněny tři perspektivy, skrze které je možné pohlížet na položenou výzkumnou otázku "Který z těchto dvou přístupů je lepší?" a to díky zaměření se na definici lepšího. Tyto tři perspektivy využité k stanovení hodnotících kritérií je rovina psychologická, ekonomická a společenská. První z těchto úhlu pohledu je primárně zaměřen na výhody z pohledu individua, totiž pohled psychologický, dále ekonomický a v poslední řadě na perspektivu sociologickou. Závěrem celé práce je odpověď na stanovenou otázku, která vede k vyjádření, že program Housing First je lepší v řešení problematiky bezdomovectví nežli program Housing Ready.

This paper compares two approaches to tackling homelessness, namely the Housing First and Housing Ready approaches. The comparison uses existing studies devoted to comparisons of quantitative data within their own research. Based on a synthesis of these three studies, this paper then answers the question of which approach is better. The text is devoted to introducing the studies, their measurement tools, and primarily to summarizing the results that the studies arrived at. Within the section on the results of the studies, three perspectives are mentioned through which to view the research question "Which of these two approaches is better?" by focusing on the definition of better. The three perspectives used to determine the evaluation criteria are the psychological, economic and social levels. The first of these perspectives is primarily focused on the benefits from the individual's perspective, namely the psychological perspective, then the economic perspective and lastly the sociological perspective. The conclusion of the whole thesis is the answer to the stated question, which leads to the statement that the Housing First programme is better at addressing homelessness than the Housing Ready programme.
