Po stopách tzv. překladatelštiny v audiovizuálním překladu

Abstract

Cílem této diplomové práce je pojednat o jednom z aspektů kvality překladu a zaměřit se přitom na nedostatky na jeho stylizační rovině, které prozrazují vliv výchozího jazyka a jeho struktur. Tento fenomén je v translatologii označován jako překladatelština (translationese) a je zpravidla důsledkem interference či absence tzv. jedinečných prvků (unique items). Obecné poznatky o této problematice byly konfrontovány s prostředím audiovizuálního překladu, jehož specifika, která se týkají především tvorby titulků a jejich technických a jazykových parametrů, byla představena v teoretické části práce. Zároveň byly popsány rozdíly mezi profesionální a amatérskou tvorbou titulků. V empirické části byla vypracována typologie interferenčních jevů, která byla následně rozšířena o typologii jedinečných prvků (unique items), aby tak byl poskytnut ucelený pohled na projevy překladatelštiny v překladu. Následně byla provedena srovnávací analýza profesionálního a amatérského překladu titulků k filmu Bananas (Banáni, 1971) a Jojo Rabbit (Králíček Jojo, 2019). Předtím byla nastíněna překladatelská metoda všech překladatelů, stručné zhodnocení jejich postupů a možné nástrahy audiovizuálních děl. The aim of this thesis is to discuss one of the aspects of translation quality, focusing on deficiencies in the stylistic level of translation that show the influence of the source language and its structures. In translation studies, this phenomenon is called translationese and is typically a result of interference or the absence of unique items. In the theoretical part of the thesis, translation research observations related to this topic were confronted with the specifics of audiovisual translation, specifically subtitles, their creation and technical and linguistic parameters. Additionally, differences between professional and amateur subtitles were described. As a part of our empirical research, a typology of interference categories including unique items categories were introduced to provide a complex overview of translationese occurrence in translation. A comparative analysis of professional and amateur subtitles of the films Bananas (1971) and Jojo Rabbit (2019) was then conducted. Prior to this, translation methods of all translators were analysed and a brief evaluation of their approaches and potential pitfalls of the analysed movies was provided.
