Práce se zabývá postavením ceštiny a dalších komunikacních kódu ve vzdelávání detí s vadou sluchu, zejména detí prelingválne neslyšících. V první cásti jsou predstaveny základní zpusoby komunikace lidí s vadou sluchu, následuje pojednání o prubehu osvojování mluveného a znakového jazyka a popis dvou základních prístupu k výchove a vzdelávání detí s vadou sluchu: prístupu monolingválního a monokulturního a prístupu bilingválního a bikulturního; zmínena je také tzv. totální komunikace, a to jak jako filozofie, tak jako metoda. Druhá cást práce približuje výchovné a vzdelávací prístupy a komunikacní metody používané v našich školách pro žáky s vadou sluchu v minulosti i soucasnosti. Ty jsou pak v záveru práce nahlíženy ve svetle testu ctenárské gramotnosti a prípravy tzv. státní maturitní zkoušky u žáku s vadou sluchu.
The text is mapping the role of Czech language and other communication codes in Deaf children's education, prelingually Deaf above all. Essential Deaf people's communication ways, speaking language and sign language acquisition developments and two main education conceptions: monolingual and monocultural vs. bilingual and bicultural (total communication - as a metod as a philosophy - is remembered too) are presented in the first part. The second part is focused on historical and also contemporary education theories and communication methods applied in our schools for the Deaf. They are confronted with literacy tests score and implementation process of the state guaranteed school-leaving exam in the end.
