The main objective of the bachelor thesis is to determine whether mothers express interest in spontaneous delivery with epidural analgesia or not. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and an empirical part. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on physiological pregnancy, changes related to pregnancy, spontaneous delivery, and the issue of uterine contractions. It further defines pain itself and describes labour pain. The conclusion of the theoretical part is devoted to both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches to managing labour pain, including epidural analgesia.
