Fotoesej, příběhy žen z Mayotte žijících na ostrově Réunion

Abstract

Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zachytit život žen z ostrova Mayotte příchozích na ostrov Réunion. Praktickou částí práce je fotokniha s názvem Holky jako já. Na příbězích pěti dívek ve věku autorky sleduje tento fotoesej okolnosti jejich expatriace v mladém věku. K vyprávění jsou použity portréty, úryvky z rozhovorů s dívkami, jejich fotografie z dětství a snímky prostředí ostrova Réunion. Teoretická část práce vymezuje fotoesej jako žánr, popisuje jeho počátky a jeho postavení vedle fotoreportáže a dokumentární fotografie, dále nastiňuje geopolitické danosti ovlivňující migraci mezi zmíněnými ostrovy. Teoretická část je doplněna metodologií a rozhovorem s fotografem Petrem Topičem.

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to capture the life of Mayotte women arriving to Reunion Island. The practical part of the thesis is a photobook called Holky jako já. Using the stories of five girls of the author's age, this photo essay traces the circumstances of their expatriation at a young age. Portraits, excerpts from interviews with the girls, their childhood photographs and images of the environment of Reunion Island are used to tell the story. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the photo essay as a genre, describes its origins as its position alongside photoreportage and documentary photography, furthermore it outlines the geopolitical conditions affecting migration between the mentioned islands. The theoretical part is complemented by methodology and an interview with photographer Petr Topič.
