Role překladu ve výuce francouzštiny v českém kontextu

Abstract

in English: This thesis analyses the role of translation in contemporary French language teaching in the Czech context. In the theoretical part, different methodologies of foreign language teaching are presented from a historical perspective and the role of translation is evaluated within each of them. It also introduces the current sociolinguistic approach in the analysis of foreign language teaching, which is the so-called alternance codique (code-switching) which focuses in particular on the function of translation and the motivation of teachers to use it in the AC. Within the theoretical part, we also briefly introduce the current notion of mediation as an extension term for translation. The practical part explores the involvement of translation in authentic French classes. On the basis of audio/video recordings and a questionnaire survey, specific situations in which translation occurs are described, and teachers' reflection on this method is analysed. Thanks to the theoretical and practical insights gained, an assessment is made of the role and functionality of translation in contemporary French teaching. Shrnutí v češtině: Tato diplomová práce analyzuje roli překladu v současné výuce francouzštiny v českém kontextu. V teoretické části jsou představeny různé metodologie výuky cizího jazyka z historického hlediska a v rámci každé z nich je zhodnocena role překladu. Dále představí aktuální sociolingvistický přístup v analýze výuky cizího jazyka, kterým je tzv. střídání kódů (alternance codique), u něhož se zaměří zejména na funkci překladu a motivaci vyučujících pro jeho užití v rámci AC. V rámci teoretické části stručně uvádíme i aktuální pojem mediace jakožto rozšiřující termín pro překlad. Praktická část zkoumá reálné zapojení překladu v autentických hodinách francouzštiny. Na základě audio/video nahrávek a dotazníkového šetření jsou popsány konkrétní situace, ve kterých se překlad vyskytuje, a je analyzována i reflexe této metody ze strany vyučujících. Díky získaným teoretickým i praktickým poznatkům je učiněno zhodnocení role a funkčnosti překladu v současné výuce francouzštiny.
