dc.description.abstract | This final thesis titled as "Cross-cultural comparison of reality show Love Is Blind (USA, Brazil, Japan)" focuses on the adaptation of the popular reality show Love Is Blind in the USA, Brazil, and Japan. The aim of the thesis is to analyze how the physical separation of contestants is reflected in the different cultural versions of the show with an emphasis on presenting these differences. The thesis is divided into two main parts which are the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical one defines the topic with focus on the phenomenon of reality shows in general, followingly various types of this genre and examples of specific shows. It also includes an cross-cultural comparison using Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions Theory. The practical part of the thesis includes the characteristics of the research, the actual analysis and results. The thesis is a qualitative content analysis with elements of narrative analysis. For the purposes of the research are used all episodes from the first series of each selected adaptation. In total, it is thirty-seven episodes which are available on the streaming platform Netflix. dc.description.abstract | Diplomová práce s názvem "Mezikulturní srovnání reality show Love Is Blind (USA, Brazílie, Japonsko)" se zabývá adaptací populární reality show Love Is Blind v USA, Brazílii a Japonsku. Cílem práce je analyzovat, jak se do jednotlivých kulturních verzí pořadu promítá fyzická oddělenost soutěžících s důrazem na prezentaci těchto rozdílů. Práce je rozdělena na dvě hlavní části, a to na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se věnuje vymezení tématu se zaměřením na fenomén reality show obecně, dále na jednotlivé typy tohoto žánru či příklady konkrétních pořadů. Její součást tvoří také mezikulturní srovnání za využití Hofstedeho typologie kultur. Praktická část následně zahrnuje charakteristiku výzkumu a samotnou analýzu včetně vyhodnocení výsledků. Práce je kvalitativní analýzou obsahu s prvky narativní analýzy. Jako zdroj dat byly využity epizody prvních sérií všech vybraných adaptací, tj. americké, brazilské a japonské. Celkem se jedná o třicet sedm epizod, které jsou dostupné na streamovací platformě Netflix. Výsledky analýzy poukazují na vyskytující se rozdíly, které souvisí s kulturními charakteristikami dané země, a to i přes to, že všechny adaptace vycházely ze stejného základního konceptu pořadu Love Is Blind. | cs_CZ |
