Reflexe historických skutečností ve fantastice na příkladu ságy Star Wars

Abstract

The thesis deals with the issue of depicting long-past and entirely topical historical events in the Star Wars film saga. Given the current size of the Star Wars universe, this work must be limited to films known as "Episodes" (numbered I through IX) and two relatively new feature spin-offs, while everything else will be mentioned only marginally. This work maps in detail how each of the three trilogies of this saga, as well as both spin-offs, show the main problems of the time in which they arose and to which other historical facts they want or can refer. The aim of the work is thus to show that the genre widely regarded as "escape" and "completely detached from reality" reflects historical reality very strongly by its specific artistic means. česky Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou zobrazování dávno minulých i zcela aktuálních historických událostí ve filmové sáze Star Wars. Vzhledem k tomu, jak rozsáhlý je v současnosti celý "vesmír" Star Wars, musí se tato práce omezit pouze na filmy, které jsou označovány jako "Epizody" (s číslováním I až IX) a na dva relativně nové celovečerní spin- offy, zatímco vše ostatní bude zmíněno jen velmi okrajově. Tato práce podrobně mapuje, jak každá ze tří trilogií této ságy, a také oba spin-offy, ukazují hlavní problémy doby, ve které vznikaly, a na které další historické skutečnosti chtějí či mohou odkazovat. Cílem práce je tak ukázat, že žánr všeobecně považovaný za "únikový" a "zcela odtržený od reality" naopak svými specifickými uměleckými prostředky historickou skutečnost velmi ostře reflektuje.
