Vývoj tlumočení ve Španělsku s důrazem na konferenční tlumočení

Abstract

This diploma thesis is of theoretical-descriptive nature and its main aim is to describe the historical development of conference interpreting in Spain, as well as its current situation in the country. The main focus is on interpreting for the European institutions and on education of conference interpreters in the country. After brief introduction into conference interpreting from a global point of view, we focus on the origins of conference interpreting in Spain - interpreting for the United Nations, the first professional associations of conference interpreters and the first university centres that offered courses in conference interpreting. Follows the topic of current options of training in conference interpreting, as well as an analysis of courses at member universities at the EMCI (European Masters in Conference Interpreting) consortium, which are subsequently compared with the Institute of Translation studies in Prague and its EMCI specialization module. The history of interpreting for the European institutions, as well as the history of Spain and Spanish in the European Union is also described and the current situation in the Spanish booth of the European Commission is characterized, taking into consideration the ongoing Spanish presidency in the Council of the EU. Tato práce má teoreticko-deskriptivní charakter a jejím hlavním cílem je popis historického vývoje konferenčního tlumočení ve Španělsku a jeho současného stavu v zemi. Důraz je kladen na tlumočení pro instituce Evropské unie a také na vzdělávání konferenčních tlumočníků. Po krátkém úvodu do konferenčního tlumočení z globálního hlediska se práce věnuje počátkům konferenčního tlumočení ve Španělsku, se kterými se pojí tlumočení pro OSN a jak vznik prvních profesních asociací, tak vznik prvních univerzitních center zaměřených na tlumočení. Dále jsou představeny i současné možnosti univerzitního vzdělávání v zemi a je zanalyzována výuka na univerzitách, které jsou členy konsorcia EMCI (European Masters in Conference Interpreting) - tyto programy jsou dále porovnány se specializačním modulem EMCI na Ústavu translatologie Filozofické fakulty Univerzity Karlovy. Dále se práce zabývá tlumočením pro evropské instituce, stručně nastiňuje historii Španělska a španělštiny v EU a představuje současnou situaci ve španělské kabině Evropské komise, a to i s ohledem na právě probíhající španělské předsednictví Rady EU.
