Abstract

Subjectivity and Immanence: Kant's Reception in Adorno's "Negative Dialectics" - Guram Rekhviashvili Abstract The aim of this Master's thesis is to elaborate Kant's central position in Adorno's late dialectical project around the subject principle of the justification of objectivity and the thing-in-itself problem and, accordingly, to clearly situate Kant's role in the book Negative Dialectics. Rather than following the constellation of receptions in the models of the book that explicitly refer to Kant's themes (the models: freedom and metaphysics), my project aims to question Adorno's methodology of conceptualisation, which identifies the constellation processes as relating to the motifs of the Critique of Pure Reason. This leads to two central conclusions: The subjectivity of constellations as a communicative relational logic of concepts and non-conceptual disputes is methodologically grounded by the Kantian motifs of the concept of critique as hermeneutically valid, i.e. the concrete results and organisations of constellations are based in their developmental dynamics on the negative review process of representation. Subjektivität und Immanenz: Kantrezeption in Adornos "Negative Dialektik" - Guram Rekhviashvili Abstract Ziel dieser Masterarbeit ist es, die zentrale Stellung Kants in Adornos spätdialektischem Projekt, um das Subjektprinzip der Objektivitätsbegründung und das Ding-an-sich-Problem herauszuarbeiten und dementsprechend die Rolle Kants in dem Buch Negative Dialektik klar zu verorten. Anstatt der Rezeptionskonstellation in den Modellen des Buches zu folgen, die sich explizit auf Kants Themen beziehen (die Modelle: Freiheit und Metaphysik), zielt mein Projekt darauf ab, Adornos Methodologie der Begriffsbildung zu hinterfragen, die die Konstellationsprozesse als auf die Motive der Kritik der reinen Vernunft bezogen identifiziert. Dies führt zu zwei zentralen Schlussfolgerungen: Die Subjektivität von Konstellationen als kommunikative Beziehungslogik von Begriffen und nicht-begrifflichen Auseinandersetzungen ist methodisch durch die kantischen Motive des Begriffs der Kritik als hermeneutisch gültig begründet, d.h. die konkreten Ergebnisse und Organisationen von Konstellationen beruhen in ihrer Entwicklungsdynamik auf dem negativen Überprüfungsprozess der Repräsentation.
