Spiritualita v kontextu tělesných modifikací

Abstract

The presented diploma thesis aims to focus on body modifications of the view of spirituality in contemporary Euro-American society. The main effort was to answer the question of how bodily manifestations can be connected to spirituality and how it can be interpreted. In the first part of the diploma thesis, the term spirituality was defined as an individual component of personality that can be examined and interpreted outside the framework of organized religion. Furthermore, the text addressed the term body modification, which is defined in this text as a matter of contemporary Euro-American society. The theoretical anchoring of these two terms was established for the empirical part, which sought to prepare the main indicator of spirituality based on the interpretation of data obtained from interviews with informants.

Předkládaná diplomová práce měla za cíl zmapovat tělesné modifikace optikou spirituality v současné euroamerické společnosti. Hlavní snahou bylo odpovědět na otázku, jakým způsobem lze vztahovat tělesné projevy, v tomto textu podstupování tělesných modifikací, ke spiritualitě a jakým způsobem ji lze interpretovat. V první části diplomové práce byl vymezen termín spirituality, jako individuální lidské jednání, kterou lze zkoumat a interpretovat mimo rámec organizovaného náboženství. Dále se text věnoval termínu tělesných modifikací, jež je v tomto textu vymezen jako záležitost současné euroamerické společnosti. Teoretické ukotvení těchto dvou termínů bylo nezbytné pro empirickou část, která měla snahu nalézt primární indikátor spirituality na základě interpretaci dat získaných z rozhovorů s informátory.
