Abstract

This bachelor thesis consists of two parts. In the first one, the translation of Janet Brennan Croft's article, The Great War and Tolkien's Memory: An Examination of World War I Themes in "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings", is presented. The second part contains the translation analysis of the source-text and sections dedicated to the translation problems, methods and shifts. Tato bakalářská práce se skládá ze dvou částí. V první z nich je předložen překlad článku Janet Brennan Croftové, který vyšel roku 2002 pod názvem The Great War and Tolkien's Memory: An Examination of World War I Themes in "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings". Obsahem druhé části je odborný komentář, jenž zahrnuje analýzu výchozího textu, představení celkové koncepce překladu, překladatelských problémů, postupů a posunů.
