Greta Thunberg, Fridays for Future a německá klimatická politika

Abstract

The master thesis deals with the potential influence of Greta Thunberg and Fridays for Future on the development of discussions in the German Bundestag in 2018-2021. In August 2018, Greta Thunberg started protesting in front of the Swedish Parliament against the violation of the Paris Agreement. That was adopted at the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris in 2015 by all parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, committing them to take significant action to keep global warming below 1.5 řC. Other protesters began to join Greta, and already in September 2018, the international student movement Fridays for Future was established, organizing a climate strike every Friday. Through the analysis of the protocols from the sessions of German Bundestag, the thesis aims to find out how the person of Greta Thunberg, together with the protests of the Fridays for Future movement, was reflected in the German Bundestag during the global climate strikes. Among other things, the thesis aims to answer the question of whether and, if applicable, how the form of discussions on this topic changed between 2018-2021, and whether the activities of Greta Thunberg and the Fridays for Future had an impact on the development and importance of climate policy in Germany. Diplomová práce se zabývá potenciálním vlivem Grety Thunberg a Fridays for Future na vývoj diskusí v Německém spolkovém sněmu v letech 2018-2021. V srpnu 2018 začala Greta Thunberg protestovat před švédským parlamentem proti porušování Pařížské dohody. Ta byla přijata na Konferenci OSN o změně klimatu v Paříži roku 2015 všemi smluvními stranami Rámcové úmluvy OSN o změně klimatu, a zavázala je tak k učinění významných opatření na cestě k udržení globálního oteplování pod 1,5 řC. Ke Gretě se začali přidávat další protestující a už v září 2018 vzniklo mezinárodní studentské hnutí Fridays For Future, organizující každý pátek stávku za klima. Prostřednictvím analýzy protokolů ze zasedání Německého spolkového sněmu si práce klade za cíl zjistit, jak byla osoba Grety Thunberg spolu s protesty hnutí Fridays for Future v čase globálních stávek za klima v Německém spolkovém sněmu reflektována. Mimo jiné má práce za cíl odpovědět na otázku, jestli a popřípadě jak se podoba diskusí na toto téma mezi lety 2018-2021 proměnila, a zdali činnost Grety Thunberg a Fridays For Future měla vliv na vývoj a důležitost klimatické politiky v Německu.
