Dynamic of Turkish-Azerbaijan relations in the 1990s

Abstract

With the emergence of the multipolarity and the formation of new entities in the Eurasian space that happened after the collapse of the USSR in the 1990s, Turkey search for new ways economic, cultural and political alliance. Turkey decline role in the West-East tensions and was forced to turn into the East. The optimal way out of this situation was a rapprochement with Azerbaijan, from both national and ethnical point of view. Thus, the master's thesis aims to analyze the Turkish-Azerbaijani relations in the 1990s. For this purpose, the following tasks have been set. To analyse rapprochement trends in relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey after the independence and to examine the role of internal and external factors in this area, as well as the role of the legal framework in relations that were build.

Vznikem multipolarity a formováním nových entit v eurasijském prostoru po rozpadu SSSR v 90. letech 20. století, hledalo Turecko nové cesty pro ekonomické, kulturní a politické spojenectví. Turecko kvůli tomu odmítlo roli v napjaté situaci mezi Západem a Východem a bylo nuceno se obrátit na Východ. Z tohoto důvodu bylo optimálním východiskem sblížení se s Ázerbájdžánem, ať už z národního či etnického hlediska. Diplomová práce si tedy klade za cíl analyzovat turecko-ázerbájdžánské vztahy v 90. letech 20. století. Za tímto účelem byly stanoveny následující úkoly. Analyzovat trendy sbližování vztahů mezi Ázerbájdžánem a Tureckem po získání nezávislosti, udělat rozbor rolí vnitřních a vnějších faktorů v této oblasti a rovněž provést rozbor role právního rámce při budování těchto vztahů.
