Internetový slang a jeho vliv na jazykové kompetence

Abstract

This thesis focuses on the Internet slang or so-called netspeak and how this type of language manifests itself in various spheres, including the physical space. Physical and virtual worlds are generally considered to be separate and are not ascribed the same value. However, I want to show through my work that these spheres are not only interconnected but they can even be perceived to be equal while taking into account that interactions taking place in the virtual environment cannot be described as less real or valuable. Therefore, the research took place in the Internet environment, which is the homeland of netspeak, and also in the physical space. I specifically observed high school students because these age groups are generally considered the most typical (social) media users, therefore they come into contact with netspeak frequently. The methods of collecting data included non-participant observation in the physical space of classrooms (during lectures and study breaks), and also in a teachers' office, interviews with students in both physical and virtual forms of communication, and analysis of various visual materials. Tato práce se zabývá internetovým slangem nebo tzv. netspeakem a způsoby, jakými se tento typ jazyka projevuje v různý prostorech, včetně fyzického. Fyzické a virtuální světy jsou obecně pojímány jako oddělené a není jim připisována stejná hodnota. Ve své práci ale chci ukázat, že tyto sféry jsou nejen propojené, dokonce by bylo možné považovat je za rovnocenné, i s přihlédnutím k tomu, že interakce odehrávající se ve virtuálním prostředí nelze označit za méně skutečné nebo významné. Výzkum se tak odehrává jak v prostředí internetu, který je domovinou netspeaku, tak ve fyzickém prostoru. Konkrétně jsem sledovala studenty střední školy, protože tyto věkové skupiny jsou obecně považovány za nejtypičtější uživatele novodobých (sociálních) médií, tudíž se často s netspeakem setkávají. Metody sběru dat v této práci zahrnovaly - nezúčastněné pozorování ve fyzickém prostoru učeben (v rámci výuky ale i o přestávkách), a také v prostředí kabinetu profesorek, dále rozhovory se studenty jak ve fyzické, tak virtuální podobě komunikace, a analýza různých obrazových materiálů. V rámci svého výzkumu jsem uplatňovala kombinaci teoretických konceptů a metody vlastní oborům sociolingvistiky, digitální antropologie a netnografie.
