Postava gaucha v argentinské literatuře se zaměřením na dílo Don Segundo Sombra od Ricarda Güiraldese

Abstract

This thesis aims to introduce Gaucho literature and analyse the character of the gaucho and his development in the novel Don Segundo Sombra by Argentine author Ricardo Güiraldes. The work is divided into three chapters. To introduce the issue, the first two chapters are devoted to the context. We focus on the author's life and the historical events of Argentina in the 19th century there. These chapters also introduce Gaucho literature and focus thoroughly on Gauchos, who play a crucial role in this literature. In the third chapter, we analyse particular extracts from the selected work and its Czech translation by Zdeněk Šmíd, where we research the characteristics of the Gaucho character. Finally, we compare the findings and analyse the concordance of the Gaucho character in the selected novel with Güiraldes' predecessors. Cílem této bakalářské práce je představit gaučovskou literaturu a zanalyzovat postavu gauča a její vývoj v románu Don Segundo Sombra od argentinského autora Ricarda Güiraldese. Práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. Pro uvedení do problematiky jsou první dvě kapitoly věnovány kontextu, v němž se zaměřujeme na autorův život a historické události Argentiny 19. století. Zároveň také představujeme gaučovskou literaturu a detailně se zaměřujeme na gauče, kteří v této literatuře hrají klíčovou roli. Ve třetí kapitole analyzujeme jednotlivé ukázky z vybraného díla a jeho českého překladu od Zdeňka Šmída, ze kterých zkoumáme vlastnosti postavy gauča. V závěru práce porovnáváme získané poznatky a zjišťujeme, do jaké míry se shoduje postava gauča v románu s Güiraldesovými předchůdci.
