Goethovy a Schillerovy balady. Kritika a srovnání českých překladů

Abstract

Přínos diplomové práce lze rozdělit do následujících bodů: 1. Které básně byly překládány a jak překladatelé rozuměli pojmu balada? V období německé klasiky byl obsah pojmu jiný než dnes. V různých obdobích se podle toho lišil výběr básní, které překladatelé vybírali jako balady (kolísání je např. v básních s antickými motivy). Srovnání českých překladů by mělo ukázat, jaké bylo pojetí balady v českém kontextu a jak se měnilo v jednotlivých obdobích. V tomto bude srovnávací diplomová práce přínosem k teorii žánru. 2. Jsou balady okrajovou nebo centrální částí v Goethově a Schillerově díle a jak se u nás měnila recepce jejich překladů v různých obdobích? Překládala se od těchto autorů spíše dramata, próza nebo právě poezie? V tomto ohledu bude diplomová práce příspěvkem ke zmapování recepce překladů obou autorů německé klasiky u nás. 3. Jak čeští překladatelé interpretují výchozí text? Dávají důraz na náboženskou a didaktickou složku díla s cílem zdůraznit morální zásady, zaměřují se na líčení individuálního charakteru postav, nebo se drží spíše složky dějové? Každý překlad je zároveň interpretací a může otevřít nové významové složky (Benjamin, 1996). V diplomové práci budou vyhodnoceny české překlady a výsledkem by mělo být určení charakteristických překladatelských postupů a důrazů na významové složky díla.

The Czech tradition of translation from German comprises a long period of translating ballads by the Classics Goethe and Schiller. Since the middle of the 19th century, there have been many attempts to deal with their difficult subject matter in the praxis of translation. However, there haven't been any studies in translation research that would analyze the original ballads and the translations together and respecting the context both in the German and the Czech cultural and literary tradition. The following text would like to offer a translation analysis and a translation evaluation of the prominent examples of ballads by Goethe and Schiller concerning the following aspects: 1. Which poems have been translated? What was the notion of ballad used by the diverse interpretors and how has it developed from the 18th century up to the present day? This part of the text concerns the genre theory. 2. Were the ballads central to the reception of the German Classics? Was it drama, prose or poetry that predominated? This topic refers to the mapping of reception of Goethe and Schiller in our country. 3. Which aspects of the ballads do Czech translators emphasize? Do they underline the religious and didactic aspects of the text? Do they stress the morality? Or is it the individual character and the story that draws...
