Městské muzeum v Příbrami v letech 1886-1944

Abstract

Tato práce má za cíl vylíčit historický vývoj Městského muzea v Příbrami od doby jeho vzniku koncem 19. století až do jeho dočasného uzavření během okupace za 2. světové války. Reaguje tak na současnou absenci existence monografie, která by proces vzniku a následného fungování muzea v Příbrami jakkoliv přibližovala. Práce se zabývá tedy vznikem a následným více než padesátiletým působením muzea v Příbrami, důraz je kladen na proces založení instituce a problémy s ním spojené, dále pak na její muzejní, vědeckou, sbírkotvornou a popularizační činnost. Jsou zde popsány klíčové události provázející vývoj muzea v dotčeném období, jisté pozornosti se dostává také zakladateli a dlouholetému správci sbírek Městského muzea v Příbrami Ladislavu Malému, který této instituci věnoval prakticky celý svůj život. Nakonec bude zhodnocena činnost a působení muzea v horním městě Příbram od roku 1886 až do roku 1944.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe historical development of the City museum in Příbram since its establishment at the end of the nineteenth century until its temporary closure through occupation during the Second World War. The bachelor thesis responses to the present absence of monograph existence, which would approximate the process of formation and successive functioning of the museum. Therefore, it deals with the establishment and consecutive more than fifty years lasting operation of the museum in Příbram, emphasis is put on the process of formation of the institution and problems involved, then on its museum, scientific and popularization activities and also on museum collection creation. The key events connected with the development of the museum in the period concerned are being described there, a particular attention is given to Ladislav Malý, founder and long-standing custodian of collections in the City museum in Příbram, who devoted nearly all his life to this institution. Finally, activities of the museum and its contribution to the mining city development since 1886 until 1944 have been evaluated there.
