Zobrazení rozdílů ve společenských hodnotách, cítění a postojích prostřednictvím comicsu

Abstract

Tato diplomová práce pojednává především o roli comicsu ve společnosti. Snaží se comics představit jako prostředek pomoci, díky kterému můžeme zjistit náladu a způsob myšlení společnosti v danou chvíli. Rovněž comics prezentuje jako reflexi morálních a etických hodnot, které společnost, ve které vychází, vyznává. Stěžejní částí diplomové práce je analýza různých comicsových titulů, pomoci které jsou prezentovány změny v comicsech, způsobené změnami ve společnosti a hodnoty, které comicsy zobrazují jako důležité. Hlavní důraz je v analýze přitom kladen na americké comicsy Superman a Spider-Man a italské Dylan Dog a Alan Ford, jejichž rozdíly v pojetí hlavních hrdinů, témat a způsobu jejich zpracování jsou spojovány s rozdíly ve společnostech, ve kterých tyto comicsy vychází. Důležitou částí diplomové práce je i analýza comicsů, které vycházely v období válečných konfliktů, prostřednictvím kterých je comics zobrazen jako způsob šíření propagandy a určité ideologie. Hlavní myšlenkou diplomové práce je, že jsou comicsy, i přes všechny rysy, které jsou v práci popsány, stále ještě ve společnosti hluboce podceňovány jako způsob přenášení informací a předmět rozsáhlejších analýz.

The main concern of this thesis is the role that comics have in our society. Its goal is to present comics as a tool, through which we can determine mood of the society and its frame of mind at a given moment. Thesis also present comics as a reflection of moral and ethical values acknowledged by the society in which they are published. The main part of this thesis is the analysis of different comics and presentation of their change caused by changes in the society and pointing out the values these comics display as being important. The main emphasis of this study is on the American comics Superman and Spider-Man and the Italian Dylan Dog and Alan Ford. The differences of their heroes, storylines and the ways they are covered are connected to the differences of the societies, where these comics are made. An important part of the thesis is also the analysis of the comics that were published during war conflicts. War-time comics serve as an excellent example of the use of comics for the purposes of propaganda and spreading of certain ideologies. The main point of the thesis is that comics are still highly underestimated in the society as a tool for spreading information or a subject of extensive analysis.
